How People Change | The Gospel Gap: Part 5
Colossians 2:9-15
As Paul warns in Colossians 2, we can place our hope in—live according to—things that don’t deliver… that don’t last. They may give joy for a moment, they may give a sense of purpose for a season… but they are false hopes on counterfeit things. They appear to be true, maybe even religious, but ultimately fail us.
Paul also writes, that there is a True hope. Peter calls it a Living hope. It is a hope that transcends the fashions of the culture. It is a hope that outlasts the trends of the times. It is durable and dependable. It, or rather He, is steadfast and unwavering.
This True Hope is Jesus our Savior and Lord. Through His life, death and resurrection, we are given a new record—and at the same time—a new power. We can live fully in new and everlasting life through Him. This hope lives because He lives. Jesus is fully alive in us!
