How People Change | The Road Ahead: Session 2
Where God is taking us.
Revelation 7:9-17
You just did it.
But you probably didn’t even realize it.
Because you do it all the time. Subconsciously. Constantly. You asked yourself, as you began to read this post, “What does this mean?” You ask this question with just about everything you do. Everything that you encounter. Everything that becomes part of your day. Everything that forms the big story of ‘you.’ You see, we are meaning-makers. We are story-writers. We don’t just file things away as arbitrary pieces of data. We evaluate the significance of every single experience in our lives. We consider what it means to our existence—our own identity and meaning.
But what is our measure?
How do you determine the meaning of a story if you are in the middle of it? If you don’t know where it’s leading to? If you don’t have its conclusion? It helps if you can step outside of it. If you know how it resolves. It helps to know if your story is actually a part of a bigger narrative.
It really helps if you understand the author.
Fortunately, The Author invites us to know Him. He invites us to step outside of ourselves to see the bigger picture. The bigger story. And yes, as we will see tonight, He tells us exactly how it resolves. It is then that we truly understand the meaning of our experiences. Our transformation. Our lives.
I love your heart.
