Rebecca James

This week, local photographer Rebecca James conducted a photography workshop for middle and high school students at Gillionville Church’s DSN LAB. With 11 years of experience specializing in family photography with a particular focus on newborn portraiture, James brought her expertise to the classroom.

During the workshop, students learned the fundamentals of photography, including the operation of DSLR cameras. Using Canon Rebel cameras, they practiced shooting in various settings around the campus, experimenting with different camera settings, light conditions, and subject compositions. Additionally, students gained hands-on experience in post-production techniques using Adobe Lightroom on iMac computers.

Created by Bryan Haynes, DSN LAB™ is an immersive, creative discipleship platform where students worship and serve through photography, video, graphic design, illustration, and mixed media. The program aims to equip students with the skills to serve their local church while inspiring them to use their creativity to share the beauty of the Gospel.
